Know Your Fabric Type

Basic Cleaning Process
Follow these simple steps to clean your awning safely and effectively

Remove Loose Debris
Use a soft brush or broom to gently remove leaves, dirt, and loose debris from the fabric surface.

Prepare Cleaning Solution
Mix mild soap (dish soap or specialized awning cleaner) with lukewarm water. Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach.

Apply and Scrub
Apply the solution with a soft brush or sponge, working in circular motions. Pay attention to stained areas.

Rinse Thoroughly
Rinse completely with clean water using a garden hose. Ensure all soap residue is removed.

Air Dry Completely
Allow the awning to dry fully before retracting. Avoid storing a wet awning for long periods of time, as this can cause mildew.
Dos & Don'ts for retractable awnings
Do
- Only extend your awning when in use. Retract awning after use.
- Retract awning during storms and high winds, and before snow
- Call us if you have any questions or concerns
- If snow accumulates on awning, brush off snow immediately
- Clean your awning 1-2 times a year
- Use a soft brush and mild soap solution
- Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue
- Allow awning to dry completely before retracting, unless windy conditions arise. When weather allows, extend awning to dry.
Don't
- Don't leave awnings out in snow or windy conditions. If snow falls on the awning Brush off snow immediately, and retract your awning.
- Don't retract your awning with snow on the cover
- Don't allow water to pool on your awning. If water is pooling, bush it off and retract your awning. Give us a call.
- Never use harsh chemicals or abrasives when cleaning
- Don't scrub too hard - be gentle with fabric
- Never stand on or hang from the awning
- Don't use a pressure washer on the fabric
